A home is more than just a place to live; it is a place where everyday life can flourish. For this project, the goal was clear – to create a home that reflects the owners' personalities and facilitates their new stage in life. A place characterized by simplicity and elegance, where balance and tranquility are at the center.
The apartment is a unique project where history meets modernity. Situated with direct access to the park, the apartment is located in a building that once housed the Norwegian School of Canning, an institution of great significance to the region's history. The renovation was carried out with tremendous respect and love for the building's cultural heritage, resulting in a stylish residence where traditional craftsmanship and modern comforts form a cohesive whole.
Although the apartment has an area of 125 square meters, it has been fully optimized, with solutions that make the best possible use of every square meter. The open kitchen and living room serve as a natural gathering place for warm conversations, while the private bedroom offers a haven of peace and relaxation. Specially designed ceiling moldings, elegantly curving inward toward the room, frame the living and kitchen areas with subtle details. The same ceiling moldings extend into the master bedroom, blending seamlessly into a hand-painted floral motif on the ceiling. This bright, poetic element stands in beautiful contrast to the adjoining wardrobe rooms, where dark, muted wooden ceilings and walls create a sense of exclusivity and depth.
Portals around doors and door openings, framed by solid stone, add classical elements that are balanced with a modern expression. High baseboards are interrupted only by custom-built furniture that combines practical functionality with a tribute to the building's historical roots.
Contrasts—from light to dark—give the home a dynamic inspired by the rhythms of nature, like the changing seasons of the park outside. Material choices explore this spectrum—ranging from light colors and deep brown wood to green, white, and gray marble elements. Textiles in green hues contribute to a natural yet balanced palette. These exquisite materials create a timeless backdrop that allows the couple's art collection to shine.
The atmosphere in the home balances precision and warmth – a harmony of serenity and intricate details. The merging of contrasts, materials, art, and comfort creates a design that feels effortless and complete. This is a home where the city stops at the door, and silence and beauty set the tone.
